Rubio’s Old Roommate Just Went to Jail for Maduro
Marco Rubio’s longtime friend David Rivera was convicted today of secretly lobbying for the Maduro regime. The judge ordered him into federal custody on the spot. Prosecutors say he’s looking at ten years on the money laundering count alone.
Rivera was Rubio’s old roommate from the Florida Legislature. He spent his career as a public anti-Communist before he took millions to lobby for a communist regime. The Secretary of State took the witness stand and testified against him. The jury came back guilty on every count.
This is what a foreign influence operation looks like when it gets busted. The Maduro regime didn’t hire just any lobbyist in 2017. They hired the man personally closest to the rising foreign policy hawk in the United States Senate. That’s not a coincidence. That’s targeting.
The same network tried it again last week — the Castro regime sent a businessman to bypass Rubio with a secret letter to the White House. Same play. Same target. Different result.
The era of unchecked, unaccountable foreign agent operations may be over.
Keep thinking.
