GOP Candidate is a CURRENT Agent of Cuba
There’s a Republican candidate for Congress in Rhode Island who just registered as a foreign agent for Communist Cuba. Victor Mellor — Marine veteran, Mike Flynn’s informal chief of staff by his own description, running in Flynn’s home state, with Flynn headlining his Warwick rally in March — is FARA Registration No. 7740. Three foreign principals: Cuba’s General Directorate of Personal Security (the Castro family’s bodyguards, engaged official: Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, “Raulito,” the indicted man’s grandson), plus two officials at the Cuban foreign ministry — one listed on the federal form as “the Minister of Visas.” The timeline: May 20, the Justice Department indicts Raúl Castro for murder over the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue shootdown. About a week later, Mellor is in Havana having dinner with Raulito — “it wasn’t formal, it was two dinners,” his words. June 16 at 11:14 PM, he files with DOJ as an agent of Cuban state security. Compensation disclosed: none. He’s a volunteer.
And then it gets funnier: he filed the playbook. The registration’s informational materials include a bilingual manual called “The Response Lab,” part of an “Echo Engine” — with message rules (never say “regime,” never say “dictator,” never say “failed state”) and pre-drafted counter-messaging templates aimed at three sitting members of Congress. The whole thing is on fara.gov. Anyone can read it. I just did.
