You Might Not Hate All of Trump’s New Policies

LIVE — Sunday, March 16, 2025 · 5:00 PM ET
A Sunday-evening live briefing answering audience questions on national security, politics, culture, economics, and — by viewer request — bass guitar. The lead beat: why an experienced strategic intelligence analyst is not worried about the new direction of the Trump administration’s policy agenda, and what specifically is worth a calmer second look than partisan reflex allows.
In this solo briefing, intelligence analyst Eric Garland walks through the agenda with a working analyst’s discipline: what each policy actually does versus how it is being framed, where the strategic logic genuinely improves on prior administrations, where the legitimate concerns sit, and how to read political news without letting the cable-news amygdala do the work for you.
This is not partisan commentary. It is a structured, evenhanded read of a moment most viewers are processing through tribal filters — offered by an analyst whose three decades of work have always been about getting the right answer, not the comfortable one.

WHAT WE’LL COVER
– Why I am not worried about the new strategic direction — what is actually being done, structurally
– The Trump policies the audience may be surprised to find defensible
– The legitimate concerns that survive a calm reading
– National security, foreign policy, and the economic moves that connect to both
– Audience questions on culture and economics
– And, by request, a few minutes on bass guitar — because the audience asked
– How to read political news as an intelligence professional, not a partisan

concurrent viewers stream Health the stream is healthy that’s good I love it when things are healthy settings close captions let’s see video unavailable uny concurrent viewers an error occurred well that’s a shame , 10 secondsthere we go all righty teeny bit eoy but intelligible so I I have the the , 18 secondsmicrophone out I was trying to get the studio quality sound I I used to make records and I have high standards for this , 41 secondsall righty just a little more Studio work , 49 secondshere not too much well good evening Sunday night um first of all this is these are good , 55 secondsproblems to have um because uh I’m in Missouri of course and , 2 secondsum uh I survived the tornadoes and I I was in their way I I was uh right in the , 10 secondsTornado Alley that had been established by Mother Nature and uh she was very cross with us and I I’ve been in the , 18 secondsmidwest now uh for 15 years and uh that was fairly freaky um even by I I’ve I’ve been in a few uh situations where there , 28 secondsis a wall cloud which is a phas we did not know in back in Vermont when I was growing up uh and how that becomes a , 33 secondsrotating wall cloud and all that um so uh I’ve been in those and those have not , 40 secondsnecessarily uh uh shaken me uh this didn’t shake me either I’ve been here long enough but uh the the following day , 48 secondsyou’ve got um uh you’ve got shingles all over the place 10 dead um did get woken up in the middle of the night having to , 57 secondsshelter uh it was um it was a major event here in this part of the country and uh three people died from a a dust , 5 secondsstorm in Texas I had somebody asked me if I thought that Trump’s budgeting of , 12 secondsthe national oce National oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration Noah um , 18 secondswas possibly responsible and I do not think that any of the budget of the federal government caused this I think , 26 secondswe have one you have weather of that sort in this part of the country um plus a lot of stuff’s changing but um it was , 34 secondsa good reminder as one gets from time to time that mother nature very much is in charge and uh she deserves a lot of , 41 secondsrespect so um so the good news is I’ve survived um and we’ll start there so um for all , 51 secondsthose of you who are um joining me from uh from Twitter land uh we’ve already got like a ton of uh good questions and and I and I want to to get to them since they were uh since they were so good two seconds , 8 secondsplease okay and see if I have control panel out , 16 secondsthere the chat rate chat rate says , 28 secondszero for , 1 seconddropped frames looks like it’s pretty good yep chat Works we’re good all right , 11 secondsonward and downward um so I want to just start um want want to start with your , 18 secondsquestions but overall um I I think one of the things that’s that’s confusing a lot of people , 26 secondsis that uh I don’t seem freaked out by a lot what I’ve seeing I just want to um you know I just want to be very clear , 35 secondsthat I don’t trust these people’s far as I can spit them right um like and I , 42 secondsdon’t blame anybody else anywhere for not trusting what they’re seeing from these drump folks uh it none of this , 51 secondsmakes normal sense um the behaviors the decisions it’s total totally abnormal but but my view of it is is that we’re finally on a on a level of abnormal that works that , 8 secondsis appropriate to how dysfunctional and criminal the world actually , 17 secondsis if you you realize you go back to how some of you started anomi uh in 201617 , 26 secondswe had this guy Trump who expressed the love of Le Putin uh a preference for Putin over Obama which was weird because , 35 secondsone we don’t mention other heads of state um when we were campaigning for president in the United States um we , 44 secondscertainly don’t compare them uh favorably to the the American president we nobody ever done that before and , 52 secondsthere this raised a lot of questions about what Trump’s relationship was to the Russians or weren’t anybody else of course Hillary Clinton for her part , 1 secondraised the idea of trump being a Putin puppet um in one of the , 10 secondsdebates which is ironic because Hillary through the Clinton Foundation had plenty of foreign backers like more than , 18 secondsalmost any politician we’ve ever seen um say what you will about a George HW Bush or even a George W bush they’re largely , 26 secondsAmerican constructs whereas the clintons after leaving the white house uh with their their Global initiative and their , 34 secondsFoundation they had substantial ties both of them to foreign foreign powers and of course Hillary Clinton served as , 42 secondsSecretary of State in the first Obama administration um Julio says I have an echo but it sounds cool I I like my , 51 secondsEchoes to be tube and Magnetic Tape based um I actually like the uh ianz uh delay champ um old pedals for guitars otherwise I don’t like Echo but uh if I can be understood that’s good I will figure out , 8 secondsthe um uh this is actually going to bother me horribly because I you know I like sound , 15 secondsquality um anyways we will get to that um the the clintons had their own , 23 secondsforeign issues and yet Hillary raised the issues around Trump , 30 secondsuh which were valid except also we now know that her campaign uh particularly through the , 38 secondslawyers for the Clinton Foundation uh which was law firm called Perkins kui they had taken over from , 47 secondsPaul singer who of course is a a private Equity Fund manager uh who was involved in , 55 secondsArgentinian debt and he’s got a lot of ties to the Israelis and all over the he’s very Global himself um that the , 2 secondsClinton campaign worked with them on the steel dossier fraud which was a direct attempt to defraud the CIA and the , 10 secondsFBI and and yet you know she she comes out and starts talking about he’s got a , 18 secondsPutin problem it looks like those two efforts may have been linked uh but anyways I I of course noticed that in during the campaign in 2016 because , 26 secondsthere were some people trying to shop the seal dossier to me to get me to pay attention to it which I was like what is going on , 33 secondshere um and of course if you look at Trump there were plenty of Russia connections there were plenty of every , 41 secondstype of connection if you you go back he did business all over the world his brand was brought all over the world there’s pictures of his daughter with a , 49 secondshard hat on in Baku aeran um and I think as I’ve said before both , 57 secondsthe behavior during the campaign and the Behavior immediately after Trump won was so , 4 secondsalarming that uh that I noticed and uh the behavior of a lot of players was , 13 secondsdisturbing um whether it was the good guys acting very very nervous over what was happening or the bad guys acting very very , 21 secondselated um so that led me to a a certain emotional state as as well like I was , 29 secondsquite alarmed as were most of the people that I trust in in the business of National Security in fact those who were , 38 secondsyou know uncanny in their calm you know I still look back at uh that and I have some questions uh but you you fast forward , 47 secondspast the four years of trump which were not very good and then the four years of Biden which may have been beset by more , 55 secondsinternal problems than people have understood like perhaps I think the average person does not realize just how problematic the US , 4 secondsgovernment has been in terms of infiltration by people that do not share democratic values and that may be people who are uh you know Crooks who are bent , 14 secondson profiting from the US government and not benefiting the taxpayers on up to to foreign agents s here to try and Destroy , 22 secondsdemocracy from within uh and of course it is really a case-by casee basis who that , 30 secondsis um and I think it really is Case by case how do you separate out somebody who is , 39 secondsmerely um self-interested greedy representing their family’s Fortune perhaps or a , 48 secondsfull-blown Russian intelligence officer um or somebody lying in weight from the British crown who wants their , 55 secondscolonies back which Believe It or Not There is some of that out there how do you tell from person to person , 3 secondswhat that is especially in a group of Institutions so , 9 secondsbig um that it’s hard for most people to under understand you know the US budget , 16 secondsevery year is several trillion dollars a trillion is a thousand billion and you’re talking about multiple of , 24 secondsthose you know it is hard for the average person to recognize how much money that is and how many individuals , 32 secondsit has been you know it’s comprised of so if you look at corruption in the US , 39 secondsgovernment how does the average person perceive it even feds you should I say um government employees of the United , 47 secondsStates federal government or govies as we might call them in DC people who are on the GS scale they’re gs1 14s gs-1 15s , 56 secondsor in the senior executive service they are civil servants they even have trouble understanding the , 4 secondstotality of what’s out there and once you get that into private contractors when you start considering , 12 secondsthe role of privatization of the government whether it is um uh , 18 secondscontractors uh uh such as Accenture or , 23 secondsdeoe um or you know even people that are working on single Source contracts or , 32 secondspersonal services contracts which is to say they may have avoided the scrutiny that the average contractor would go through I it’s very difficult for , 40 secondsanybody to know just who is receiving money from the US government and just what they’re doing with it and when you start looking at both , 48 secondspublic corruption and Counter Intelligence matters in the United States you will find a whole lot of people in the US government who are doing things that none of you would most , 57 secondslikely enjoy so here we are in the Trump Administration 2.0 which is very very , 5 secondsdifferent there’s no Mike Pompeo there’s no Jared Kushner can we just we can just sit back and take that in for a half a , 13 secondssec there’s no Jared Kushner this time there’s no Ivanka she’s not around there’s no permanent security clearances , 19 secondswhich don’t exist um there is a whole lot of stuff that I you know got known , 26 secondsfor in 2017 and 2018 and Beyond uh like explaining basic concepts of the US , 33 secondsgovernment that I don’t need to do this time because in 2017 you had things like , 40 secondsSteve Bannon and Jared Kushner are in the White House and they both conspired reportedly to get rid of the intelligence community and The Joint , 49 secondsChiefs of Staff off the National Security Council now you might ask , 55 secondsyourself what is the NSC going to talk about out without the spies and the military like who is left looking after , 5 secondsNational Security if you take all the Spooks and the generals off like it’s I think it’s down , 13 secondslike the Girl Scouts and the Salvation Army at that point you know the otoban society so it like one of the first , 21 secondsexecutive orders that Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon tried was to buy exective order take the , 30 secondsspies and Military off the National Security Council now it didn’t work because executive or orders only work in , 40 secondsabsence of the law if there isn’t a statute that has been you know established by Congress and you know , 49 secondsAppropriations and all that if if you don’t if you don’t have that in place um the the executive office can on , 58 secondsa temporary B basis you know just issue an order we we allow this in the case of some emergency comes up that the president uh who is , 6 secondsreally the last uh the last individual with authority to help us in our times of need uh the ultimate Authority in the , 14 secondsUnited States surely counterbalanced by the Legislative Branch counterbalanced by the Supreme Court pretty genius , 20 secondssystem we still want it to be one person who can make a call avoid a nuclear catastrophe whatever it is but but , 29 secondsthat’s supposed to be temporary it’s supposed to be in case of emergency and because the National Security Council was , 37 secondsestablished by Statute by the Congress Trump couldn’t just get rid of all the spies and and , 44 secondsthe Pentagon out of the thing and it was one of the crazier things that that I saw back then so I had to like come out and explain stuff like this or people , 53 secondsare talking about Jared Kushner having a security clearance and I’m like wait a minute what about his family that is condos to the Chinese in exchange for , 1 secondeb5 visas this is the kind of thing that will come up under application for security clearance and will generally say no maybe theoretically there is some , 10 secondsexception to this but I can’t imagine and I couldn’t imagine what it might be um that he was leaving several gajillion , 18 secondsdollars of his family’s dodgy real estate deals off his application and when you sign an sf86 form which is why , 25 secondsI started ranting about in January 2018 or whatever it was I was explaining to the general public , 31 secondswhat an sf86 form is because the general public unlike DC everybody has to fill out one of these it’s pretty normal uh , 39 secondsif you’re going to have any sort of classified information that you have to access but for the rest of America that’s normal they don’t know what this , 46 secondsis so they may never have filled out this form that at the bottom of every form says yes if I lie to you if I leave , 53 secondsstuff out I’m going straight to prison man well you know the the Trump 1.0 was full of stuff like that where you know I , 2 secondsgot a lot of play on social media explaining the basics of the federal government to people I don’t have to do that , 11 secondsnow like it’s very limited it’s very interesting to me uh there’s a lot of stuff that seems , 18 secondsalarming but at least I see right now a bunch of stuff being done that , 27 secondsI’ve kind of been hoping for for a long time a lot of it is much more extreme than I would have thought then , 34 secondsagain I don’t have a full picture of just how bad things might be I’ll give you an example of some one of Trump’s , 41 secondspolicies from right now that is more extreme than I expected but it’s on a , 48 secondstopic that I’m not surprised to see and uh it’s the United States agency for International Development or , 56 secondsusaid uh they’re they’re being shut down in different ways I I’m I’m not going to Google it right now I forget if they’re if they’re shutting the entire agency , 4 secondsdown I think they’re moving it into the state department which makes sense it’s part of our diplomatic relationship with , 11 secondsthe world but it has a strange structure that I think has not been , 19 secondsparticularly conducive to success in the world like it has subcontractors major , 27 secondssubcontractors company called konics c h m o n i , 33 secondsCS um and Dai development Alternatives International so did you follow that you’ve got usaid that has underneath it , 42 secondsa private company called Dai that does the economic development and other International Development out in the , 50 secondsrest of the world see like the US government then usaid then you have private contractors and I’m not sure how many other , 58 secondscontractors other than these two main ones , 4 secondsum but I you know I was uh I worked with some of those groups back in the , 10 secondsday and I saw some major corruption there was a matter that involved the country of , 18 secondsBolivia that led to the uh the election of Avo Morales , 26 secondswho turned out to be a very anti-democratic figure who worked very closely with some of the drug trafficking , 32 secondscartels and it’s a very long story as to how that happened but the usaid contractors , 40 secondsbasically um got a bunch of people off of their their day-to-day , 47 secondsliving that was collecting cocoa leaves which I might add have more use than just , 54 secondscocaine uh for people of native descent in that part of the world world there’s medicinal value there’s cultural value , 1 secondI’m not an expert in this I I have no use for coca leaves or any of its derivative products in in my life uh but , 9 secondsothers do and so there were people in Bolivia who were collecting the stuff up and they were being pushed around by usaid , 18 secondscontractors to uh to suddenly switch to hearts of palm they would be growing this tree , 26 secondsthat and then harvesting it in certain ways to um Pro to provide uh this on meos this , 33 secondsvegetable for salads you may have had it on salads if you’ve been at like a a Cuban restaurant or something like , 40 secondsthat uh now you probably know this but there’s a lot different profitability between salad , 49 secondstoppings and cocaine so these people ended up starving and I gather they uh they had like collar or scurvy I mean it got , 57 secondsreally bad and out of the that terrible situation um from the chapare region of Bolivia came this guy AEL Morales who , 6 secondsimmediately linked up with Hugo Chavez’s Administration in Venezuela and the , 14 secondsCuban regime and those are deeply anti- uh anti-democratic anti-human rights regimes they’re enemies of , 22 secondsAmerica really and I was a witness to this there was no path for an AO Morales without the United States getting , 31 secondsinvolved in this way that was incompetent if not cruel and that’s just one example I know , 40 secondsof others but that one I was actually there for so when they came for usaid and said hey we’re going to we’re going , 48 secondsto take this and we’re going to put it back in the state department we’re going to have more direct Authority from the executive branch that’s something that’s seems to , 57 secondsme like it’s about years overdue minimum because America is tarnished by that kind of , 5 secondsactivity you know the bad guys need people starving because of America in , 13 secondsthe rest of the world the bad guys need America to be less like America competent kind uh , 21 secondsinterested in and good for all uh and from what I’d seen uh usaid , 28 secondswas at least far from perfect on that stuff so when they go and start making major changes which , 37 secondsI think we’re overdue you see this one kind of reaction catwall of oh think of , 44 secondsall the wonderful things we we we do with these institutions and we’re seeing this with with a lot of government , 53 secondsfunctions that I don’t think Americans really have a defined opinion about how efficacious they are I think the Trump , 2 secondspeople are moving on a number of organizations that are that have some compromise issues uh apparently they’re , 10 secondstaking shots at Columbia University and uh Senator Josh Holly and I will tell you for those of you who , 16 secondsknow me um you know he’s not necessarily been um you know uh a politician I’ve , 25 secondsnormally aligned with uh you may remember him from uh you know his parent support of the January 6th , 33 secondsuh rioter and um you know uh he is one of my two , 39 secondssenators um here in Missouri but uh in of late after plenty of the investigation , 47 secondsof that Jan 6 stuff has come out Senator Holly is uh he’s on team good guy a lot he again he’s not made in the lab for me , 55 secondshe’s not like my favorite but he’s been coming start at uh people who would uh you know Force children into slave labor , 3 secondswell I like that if you know my work and um he’s been going at uh our Environmental Protection Agency to , 12 secondsprotect people in St Louis from all this radiation that’s been left in the ground since World War II that’s a bigger deal , 19 secondsthan people understand and so of late he comes out and says hey a lot of these giant universities are just hedge funds , 27 secondsstuffed with for foreign money that are indoctrinating our our kids and then they’re making the money on the back end having the kids go off and do all this , 36 secondsstuff with the tech sector make money and then they dump this their money back into the hedge fund and I’m like , 43 secondswhat because that’s correct and he says wait a minute these guys have enough money they don’t need Federal funding so let’s cut off , 50 secondsColumbia University now if you’ve ever been doing any kind of Counter Intelligence stuff you run , 58 secondsyou run into Columbia University more than average there’s a lot going on there and it involves , 6 secondsforeigners that uh may not have democratic ideals firmly in mind , 14 secondsso this strikes me as fundamentally different than Trump 1.0 another major thing probably the , 23 secondsmajor thing is the first thing they’re going at is the cartels and I want you to remember that you you , 31 secondshave some of the most violent criminals in history armed with isra spyware that , 38 secondswe know about it could be much else for all we know they have god tier access to Facebook and Twitter and and our phones , 46 secondsI don’t know I know there’s a lot of different spyware out there uh that should not be circulating I’m sure ain’t , 53 secondsthe NSA who’s running it it’s your local sheriff who’s got a copy it’s a real problem so you have people that are , 1 secondfundamentally super violent who are trafficking children they are , 7 secondstrafficking fentanyl hiding it in different uh recreational drugs just killing people all over the place and if , 15 secondsyou look at uh the recent Revelations of the crematorium in Mexico that is supposedly , 23 secondsoperated by the halisco cartel these people are on the level of the , 30 secondsNazis and potentially on the scale thereof you start talking about killing hundreds of thousands of people via opiates you’re getting up there you talk , 39 secondsabout all the people judges politicians journalists regular people Witnesses down in Mexico and other countries in , 48 secondsorder to keep those drugs flowing um you know you’re starting to talk , 56 secondsabout major major human rights crimes there is it to , 3 secondsthe scale of World War II well we don’t know yet that that was in the single to double digit Millions plenty enough , 12 secondsright um you know depends on how we count but we’re starting to reckon with it and right now the Trump , 19 secondsAdministration is shutting that border as tight as possible and they’re scooping up people that have been all over this country particularly the , 28 secondsmiddle of the country and the Border regions and they are loading these guys who are extremely dangerous onto , 37 secondstransports run by the military they’re being collected up by the Marine Corps and others and they’re being sent away from , 45 secondsthis country and that is a net good uh and when you know how much money that they have they have , 54 secondsput um into the pockets of corrupt public officials you begin to see a pattern , 2 secondsemerge of a lot of our problems stemming from these criminal organizations that have like no ties to the United States , 10 secondsand several of these people have been deported five six times so the this is they were caught , 19 secondsand deported during Bush 43 during Obama during Trump during Biden and they’re , 27 secondsback so there has been a problem with our border security for a long time a , 34 secondsserious one so serious that you can be killing people with fentanyl and be back as soon as you’re You’re gone there’s , 42 secondsvery clearly a problem with the Border in in in many senses I think , 50 secondswe’re going to see a scale of corruption there that is going to shock people and and this is the Prelude to that , 58 secondsnow again I’m going to back up I know you’re not prepared generally to think about the Trump Administration doing anything very useful Lord knows his , 7 secondsfirst four years as president they weren’t very helpful in fact they probably made some of these problems much , 17 secondsworse so I’m as shocked as you are but here we are um uh I’m GNA take a a question here , 25 secondsfrom Oso our man could you my friend Tom what are your thoughts Eric on the Trump people having their background checks , 33 secondsbeing moved from FBI to the Pentagon I love this question um the FBI has been , 41 secondsgetting gutted it has been getting cleaned out we are we have had a couple different special agents in charge , 48 secondsacting or full here in St Louis where the FBI has had some issues uh we’ve had a a rotation of a , 56 secondscouple uh and the latest is fairly recent um you know one of the things the , 5 secondsFBI does is Counter Intelligence uh you know who else does Counter Intelligence is the Pentagon through the defense intelligence agency , 14 secondsand they I believe manage the clearances uh they I believe they have a master list of the clearances there’s , 21 secondssome there was some roll split between CIA and Dia is my understanding of it it is not a complete understanding there are people with a lot more expert , 29 secondsknowledge about how that works a bunch of that expert knowledge is classified so you know I’m in a bit of a bind , 36 secondsthere but bottom line Tom uh the Pentagon is way better at doing background , 45 secondschecks uh of a serious variety than the FBI would be I I think the FBI is is not resourced , 52 secondsproperly to do the scale of background checks that that are needed and I’m not , 59 secondscertain that the institution has been functional enough to do a serious , 6 secondsjob so um you know when they started talking about how oh they’re not going to have their background checks nobody’s getting background check which again , 14 secondslet’s go back to what I was talking about Jared Kushner were very clearly you know this guy filled out an sf86 , 22 secondsForum he lied on it he lied by omission and he didn’t go to he didn’t go to prison he also didn’t go to prison during , 30 secondsBiden’s Administration now the FBI and the doj are supposed to prosecute without fear or favor and without political influence however if we take , 39 secondsas a as a given that uh that Trump might have um been putting a thumb on the , 45 secondsscale during his first Administration then ostensively that thumb would have been off during Biden and yet there were a lot of people , 55 secondswho who committed clear violations of the law just in getting their security clearances , 1 secondnot um you know not what they did once they had access to National Defense information which we focused on the the , 10 secondsboxes of classified uh information classified documents in the bathroom at Trump’s golf course yeah , 20 secondsthat was uh not to my liking you know any anybody serious would be pretty alarmed by that , 28 secondsbut it’s only now that we have Director of National Intelligence tulsey gabard , 36 secondsshe’s coming out and she is naming names of all these media organizations that apparently have been getting access to classified , 43 secondsintelligence under the guise of whistleblowing which I thought we already talked about this all this Wiki , 50 secondswikileak stuff that no classified defense information going to news outlets is not journalism at all , 58 secondsit’s not been until Director of National Intelligence telsey gabard that they’re cracking down on this and it’s been a huge problem for , 7 secondsa long time so you know I’m in a pickle here folks , 13 secondsyou know uh after the first four years of Trump’s presidency and the four years of his post presidency not much for , 21 secondstheir there not much there for me to like and yet , 29 secondswe have usaid being brought back in to the state department we have background , 36 secondschecks going back into our defense department rather than our law enforcement which doesn’t that make , 45 secondssense if we are beset by Foreign agents all over the place that we would , 52 secondsrather um that we would have National Security Institution like the Pentagon which yes the FBI has a critical , 1 secondNational Security role it does because there’s an overlap between crime and Counter Intelligence but the , 8 secondsPentagon has nine intelligence agencies including the NSA and the NGA which are the big ones so if you want to know what , 16 secondssomebody’s up to that’s really the place to go the FBI has not got the juice for , 23 secondsthat so yeah I do I not trust um the Trump Administration in principle , 30 secondsabsolutely am I seeing stuff that is exactly the way you want it to go we got foreign agents everywhere let’s have the , 37 secondspeople able to really get it who’s a threat do the background before we let these folks in the White , 45 secondsHouse guys that’s pretty good you know uh we don’t want the national narrative , 53 secondsbeing sculpted by people who have access to National Defense information and , 1 secondsupposedly in order to save us they want to compromise that National Defense information anything marked top secret , 7 secondsmy friends is considered a grave risk to National Security as in the United States might be Gravely , 17 secondsdamaged seriously harmed by anybody hearing about it people could die um maybe lots of people and that’s , 25 secondsthe thing about the the classification and the control of information compartmentalization you don’t know what’s going to happen if this gets , 33 secondsout um you know we have the Trump Administration stepping forth going no the media can’t do this anymore and if , 41 secondsyou look at the behaviors around a lot of narratives particularly the steel dossier the conflation of the real , 48 secondsinteraction of Trump’s people with the Russians to it Trump and Paul manif for , 55 secondsgiving data from the Republican party to Constantine kinnik who was very clearly a Russian intelligence , 4 secondsofficer that was conflated with the steel dossier which was a , 11 secondsfraudulent intelligence product by a foreign National a Brit by the name of Christopher , 17 secondssteel and the media confused Americans intentionally they made it sound like , 24 secondsthe work of the Robert S Malu III investigation ation which was very complete very serious and found all , 33 secondssorts of incriminating information every time they took a step forward our national news media conflated with the steel dossier which walked right into , 42 secondsthe way of guys like Jim Jordan um who would say oh this is the Russia this is the Russia hoax well , 51 secondshere’s the thing the steel dossier was a Russia hoax all the other Russians were not a Russ hoax those were just Russians , 59 secondswho were messing around with our election and the media was critically involved in that so smacking them and , 7 secondsgetting them to behave like Prosecuting people who are involved in the trafficking of Defense information under the Espionage Act that’s a net good you , 16 secondsdon’t want somebody at NBC News trafficking nuclear plans there was a there was a case of this uh this guy Kyle frezy I don’t know if he’s still in , 25 secondsprison I do know that it was pretty funny when I I saw him making fun of me on Twitter and then he got indicted because he worked at the Pentagon the defense intelligence agency and he was , 34 secondsdming chicks he was dating classified intelligence over Twitter DMS now I don’t know how many of you have worked , 42 secondsfor the Pentagon but I I don’t know if you know that you can’t do that they get , 49 secondslike really angry if you DM any classified Intelligence on Twitter I never did it , 58 secondsyou know also I don’t know if any of you are dating but I just you know who gets hot over that spies , 7 secondslike like you know hey let’s go dancing or you know I cook really well I mean , 13 secondsthat seems like some game but uh hey I have access to our assessment of laser , 21 secondsweapons on Chinese Naval vessels which is what Mr frezy was uh trafficking to , 28 secondsemployees of NBC I don’t know who gets hot and bothered about that other than foreign agents uh it seems to fail on both the , 37 secondsNational Security and and the digital dating levels I don’t know seems El , 44 secondsalsoo seems pretty bad yeah um , 50 secondsso uh my my my general theme yeah these guys aren’t my cup of tea but they keep doing stuff I really like um so I’m as emotionally confused as as you uh Patrick O’Neal says does his diplomacy with Europe and Canada and the way he , 7 secondstreated zalinsky concern you I did a video on this channel and if you haven’t subscribed please do so and you can check out my video all about what I , 16 secondsthink happened during that zilinsky meeting I wanted to remind everybody that both these men are Screen Actors , 23 secondsthat Trump is an actual member of The Screen Actors Guild and zilinski had a comedy show on Netflix as well as , 32 secondsback in his home Ukraine uh called servant of the people which is a show about a high school teacher who gets , 38 secondspopular because he’s goes viral uh when he one of his students shoots a video of him yelling about how corrupt Ukrainian , 46 secondspoliticians are and then he ends up as president it’s actually a very good show it’s very well produced and zalinski is , 53 secondsa great comedian he is he has great comic timing in both the Ukrainian language and English he does a thing , 2 secondswhere he’s he he’s gotten a call from Angela Merkel from Germany and he’s speaking English to her and he’s funny in English too um you know I don’t know , 11 secondshow many comedians you know who are funny and Ukrainian in addition to English but I think it’s pretty rare , 18 secondsso um so Trump sits down with zalinski and he’s like yelling at him and , 25 secondszilinski is like oh I said thank you no it’s okay and kind of the denum all of that , 32 secondswas that the Europeans and particularly the United Kingdom committed more to being the ones who would manage the , 39 secondsrehabilitation and the the Reconstruction of Ukraine and you know they’re firmly opposing the Russian , 47 secondsFederation in their War just as we’re going to conclude , 54 secondsit I you know do do I I think everybody was being sincere in those moments I don’t think any diplomats are sincere I , 2 secondsthink these are all actors who were generally too homely for Hollywood um I lived in Washington we , 9 secondssaid this is Hollywood for ugly people and everybody knows what move they’re trying to play on the chess , 17 secondsPort um and in the case of of trump and zalinski , 28 secondsit seemed a little bit like Vaudeville to me but the the you know what’s the ultimate end there we want Ukraine to be , 36 secondsmore integrated in Europe and America has more than enough to do with Canada and Mexico trying to secure its Homeland , 44 secondsand we also want NATO countries to spend more on defense and you know there’s some other , 53 secondslevels to this there’s a lot of money that you know the United States uh donated to Nato or spent on , 1 secondits National Security apparatus in other words paying the military industrial complex of the United States General Dynamics north of Grumman looh Martin , 10 secondsand other contractors so we would we would also sell a bunch of equipment to the Europeans through to our you know they , 19 secondswould buy stuff from our companies and then that stuff got used in Iraq and Afghanistan and other places , 27 secondsand I’ll just tell you that after after uh the Iraq War started up in 03 and I just did a video about how we relied , 34 secondsinto it by the CIA and others um the cars in my neighborhood northwest DC went from be BMWs and mercedes-benz’s , 45 secondsto Bentley’s and rolls-royces in a short period of time and that was not good so the idea that we’re going to , 54 secondshave Europe take care of its own defense defense industry and slw US less money through our military-industrial complex , 2 secondsthat might not have been things that anybody was thinking about but it might be a net good um now Trump’s uh Trump’s diplomacy , 12 secondswith Canada was far more hilarious because ah we’re gonna make it the first state we’re the 51st state it’s like of course he wasn’t but we , 21 secondswant Canada less dependent on the United Kingdom and more interest Ed in taking care of its own National Security , 29 secondsincluding policing up the Border I I think I’ve said this in in in a past live stream and maybe a past , 36 secondsvideo I think that uh that was a way to be very cartoonish and get the Canadian people fired up about defending , 44 secondsthemselves and we’re really a safe enemy for them because we’re not their enemy they’re our closest Ally and it’s and um , 52 secondsthere’s nobody who’s a closer second to that um you know we have a very tight trading relationship um that we may temporarily need to slow down in terms of the shipments made across the borders both the Canadian and the Mexican border as , 9 secondswe tighten things up as we get rid of the cartels as we want as we you know we frankly we want to catch whether or not , 17 secondsthey are going to replace their normal fenel shipments or whatever or uh , 24 secondscorrupt aluminum shipments with other bioweapons we’re in a dangerous time here we’re ripping out a multi-trillion , 31 secondsdollar Enterprise there are a lot of considerations for that and slowing down our trading relationship , 38 secondsbriefly to make sure as we make this swap out that we don’t have massive casualties from bioweapons or , 47 secondschemical weapons or nuclear or something that is the kind of thing National Security Professionals think about the average person may not we may not we , 55 secondsmight not want them to focus on it um so we’ve had a a a brief bit of public tension with our , 4 secondsclosest friends allies neighbors and uh as I may have explained in past live streams I’m from up by the Canadian border I’m from I’m from right near the , 13 secondsborder of Quebec I speak both languages I pass as Canadian when I go up there when I hit the Border I’ve been believe , 20 secondsit or not I’ve been harassed for my uh for my paperwork I’ve been asked how long I’ve had work permits in the United States States I’m like you know 45 years , 30 secondsum uh you know I I I couldn’t have more affection for for Canadians so I’ve not been , 38 secondsworried I I’ve been like okay so you know there’s a bit of hocky goon stuff going on here and it’s funny they had a , 46 secondsuh little meme of Canadians sticking out their elbows uh now if you’re not a big hockey fan you don’t know what that means that you know sticking out the , 54 secondselbow on someone is meaning when you get in the corners and you in the dirty areas you know you’re going to you’re going to Elbow him in the face and that , 1 secondis prel to a hockey fight right is you know Canadians are both the most polite people you’ve ever met and the most , 9 secondslikely to punch you in the course of a sporting event that is not boxing uh these things are not in in in in , 16 secondscompetition with one another I don’t figure um and and so I just saw that as like yeah these the Canadians getting fired , 25 secondsup like the funny thing that is not you know them threatening a terrorist attack on us that that’s not saying that you know they’re going to bomb Buffalo New , 33 secondsYork they’re just like they got the elbow out we’ll stick the elbow down on you and like I was like okay they’re getting fired up they they won the four , 41 secondsnations uh face off a few weeks ago and everyone was super fired up they’re like we’re the first nation of hockey and um , 49 secondsyou know I couldn’t have been happier about it and and look they just got their first new prime minister in nine , 57 secondsyears Justin Trudeau is out Mark Carney is in and they’re getting rent of the carbon tax they are they are unifying , 5 secondsthey’re not going to be torn apart anymore by um well you should if you’re not Canadian you should look into this piev or I don’t make too many comments , 14 secondsabout uh Canadian politics because I’m American and I don’t want to use my public figure status to to mess with , 20 secondsthem um I get my opinions though and this p p ever guy refuses to submit to a background check he’s the leader of the , 28 secondsopposition essentially um he’s the leader of the Tories in Canada and he refuses to have a background check so that he could have a um security , 37 secondsclearance so I have some questions and so does everybody else and um Po’s uh you know era seems to be about over this , 46 secondsCarney guy is moving towards the middle so if you look at that series of events Al together you’ve , 54 secondsgot you’ve got Trump gets mouthy they put up a a picture of mon Blanc or the matter horn or one of them in Switzerland and they have a picture of , 3 secondsthe Canadian flag which is like the dumbest the dumbest image possible it’s like ah Canada is the 51st state which , 11 secondsof course nobody intends um not even him there’s there’s there’s nothing that will be gained by the United States , 18 secondstaking control of Prince Edward Island um you know are we going to get potatoes are we going to have more access to uh L , 26 secondsLobster from Nova Scotia are we going to take over the Canadian um Maple strategic maple syrup , 35 secondsReserve which is a thing by the way and it is very mobbed up are are we going to , 40 secondstake that over no and if you have um if you have ever looked into the , 47 secondscomplexities of Quebec Canadian politics as in the the French population in the province of Quebec and some other , 55 secondspopulation or some other provinces but generally Quebec the secession movements and the language politics of all that if , 3 secondsif if if you knew how complex and and controversial like whether or not you had the word start or Den in the corner , 12 secondsof your Windows computer program you would never want to invade Canada no matter what they had there all all the , 20 secondsmoney on Earth uh Ambrosia um you know uh this The Secret of etal life you you , 27 secondswould not invade Canada um Lisa Roy says yes pv’s refusal to get the security clearance it’s very suspicious musk lies , 37 secondsPV says it all yes Lisa yes it does um and the northern passage now that’s much , 44 secondsmore interesting that is something that deserves some uh some discussion with the the uh you know , 52 secondsglobal climate change might there be more of a passage that everyone’s been looking for the Northwest Passage that , 2 secondsthat would be running trade up around the ice caps uh instead of uh down through the Panama , 9 secondsCanal yeah there would be something to that and it would absolutely be for example in Russian and Chinese interest , 15 secondsto have the United States not have military control over the Arctic in that , 22 secondsway uh which is which is interesting so uh the question then would be how much foreign uh pressure has been put on , 31 secondsCanada if that if they’re expecting global warming to open up that Passage would it then be in the interest , 39 secondsof these foreign powers to have a lever in Canada absolutely have they , 45 secondsabsolutely India China Russia Saudi others they’ve all been looking to , 54 secondscompromise Canadian politicians by land um compromise the relationship between uh Canadian law enforcement Canadian , 3 secondsmilitary with their American Partners not only has it been in their interest they’ve taken action on it and uh the Canadian government has been releasing , 11 secondsuh somewhat detailed reports on foreign interference that generally have been about China and , 20 secondsRussia um but uh and they leaves out a lot of different moning groups groups and a lot , 27 secondsof different countries that have an influence on Canada like how about the United Kingdom not everybody in the UK uh has the interests of democracy and , 36 secondsthe UK has tons of influence on Canada but the hog report did not get into that and that’s probably just as well you know talking about Canada and or sorry , 45 secondstalking talking about Russia and China probably enough the whole idea is we need sovereignty um so yeah um I’m I’m very , 55 secondsinterested to see the changes in in Canada and it looks like their their government is resilient and getting more resilient um meel Melanie JIS coming in , 3 secondswith an expanded role as a minister of the Foreign Affairs and uh there the Canadians are going to be more involved , 10 secondsin international Aid which is interesting we are getting our International Aid put more under the state department Canada’s expanding , 18 secondstheir role it’s very interesting uh I wonder if we’re going to strengthen each other’s democracies and we’re going to interact with the rest of the world with , 27 secondsmore um with more coordination than we’ve had before that’s pretty interesting that’s that’s a very positive trend I , 36 secondsthink Wendy asks is Trump gonna be stopped I’m G to answer your question in the most annoying way possible with an , 45 secondsanswer all sorry that’s a not annoying way to answer a question with an answer to answer a question with another , 52 secondsquestion is anybody going to run serious democr ratic candidates in , 59 secondsMissouri uh you had two basically open congressional seats here second district , 6 secondsand uh think the eth district that would be an Wagner and Jason Smith they were not energetic candidates they’re not , 13 secondssuper well-liked they were very vulnerable and the Missouri Democratic party was run by Russ carahan who is a , 21 secondsregistered foreign agent of Venezuela and he did not run serious candidates for , 28 secondsGovernor or for attorney general nor for the Congress so if we want to stop this , 35 secondsTrump guy well the only way we do that in our system is we have somebody who’s not in his political party who might win hard to do that when you don’t field , 44 secondscandidates seriously and um no matter what you felt about Biden or Harris as , 53 secondscandidates that process what happened there especially the Democrats trying to take the president’s legs out from under them in a sensitive time in the Electoral year there June July of , 8 seconds2024 uh the notion that somehow he should pass the torch um that was not good electoral , 16 secondsstrategy so my my question is are we going to have an opposition party because the Democratic party is a , 24 secondsseverely dysfunctional organization and it’s funny you have the media with different Democratic ties and , 32 secondsDemocratic uh elected officials who they’ve just gone right into their you know opposition party , 40 secondsmode and it seems like a bad theater it doesn’t seem like a serious , 48 secondsattempt to govern and you know getting on Twitter as a senator or a congressman and saying this thing just happened it’s really bad , 57 secondsand I’m going to work hard to make sure it doesn’t happen that is not the same as government that is not the same as , 3 secondsgoverning and you know it’s 2025 there’s a congressional election you know there’s election for national office , 12 secondsnext year it’s in 18 months uh is Missouri going to still have a foreign agent on the payroll of , 20 secondsright-wing Venezuelans running the opposition party every every seene matters in the , 29 secondsCongress um so for all of you who want to get rid of this Trump guy and I don’t blame you um perhaps that starts with the , 38 secondsDemocratic party you know perhaps there should be penalties in , 45 secondsterms of your career as a political uh strategist or manager engineer or Communications professional for um bad , 54 secondsaction and there hasn’t been I know I ran a campaign for Statewide office this past , 1 secondyear and the behavior was uh deplorable to put it to put it mildly um not only were they not , 9 secondssupportive here in Missouri they attacked me personally they attacked the candidate personally and continued to do , 16 secondsso so we wonder why Trump’s around I mean you know I’m not saying that uh , 24 secondsthis is not a commentary on how I ran or didn’t run a campaign uh nor on the candidate um this is a , 33 secondsstatement about a a party that uh refused to take somebody’s filing fee and they had a private uh labor union , 42 secondsLaw Firm step in and claim to be running the Democratic party when they had absolutely no legal authority to do so and a foreign agent in charge who , 52 secondsrefused to step in and deal with that issue I mean and that that’s all in the backdrop of the democratic party nationally not deciding whether or not you know they knew which candidate they wanted and having to swap out candidates you know in the middle of the summer of , 8 secondsthe very weird process and a very entertaining convention that was on just on a Showbiz standpoint I decided , 15 secondsthat that we definitely need DJs in Congress you know in between all the speeches I don’t know it just that , 23 secondsreally from from an Entertainer’s perspective that really worked for me but that was the only dang damn thing to be honest , 30 secondsso um our friend Tamara Sable Wings says yes there seem to be more theater about the Democrats in different methods from , 37 secondsthe Republicans but still theater for both absolutely that’s that is my my sense of it uh the Democrats give the , 44 secondsimpression of being sincere and once you figure out how to fake being sincere the world is your oyster um you know the , 52 secondsRepublicans they are this is one big Andy Cowman routine as far as I’m concerned like they are well into , 1 secondtheater of the Absurd um which is I think why everyone’s having trouble sort of tracking it all again I don’t blame , 9 secondsanybody you know like it’s weird but that’s where we , 16 secondsare Martin Reed says the problem with electronic communication and harassment is that we really don’t know who’s behind it I cannot tell you how much I , 25 secondsuh I sympathize with that view as somebody who’s received some Global transnational , 33 secondsrepression on a pretty intense level um uh I I wonder how much longer Twitter is going to be around it doesn’t seem to , 41 secondshave any of the controls built in that YouTube does um Tik Tok is already under federal investigation uh you know many , 48 secondsdifferent ways uh Facebook as well um I I really wonder whether or not uh , 55 secondsTwitter will be around at all um but in general though uh having you know platforms that can be , 5 secondsused for transnational repression to uh attack our democracies it’s you know it’s just , 12 secondsnot going to fly but before it’s gone I’m going to , 19 secondsreturn to a few more questions here from from the Twitter , 26 secondslet’s see there are reports that musk singled out at least initi at least initially agencies and departments , 34 secondsinvestigating his businesses see if uh the Consumer Finance protection board Tesla the Federal Aviation , 41 secondsAdministration SpaceX Etc is it true and if so how is he able to get away with , 48 secondsthat so yes Mr musk’s activities are very strange are they not so , 57 secondsum it’s interesting musk supposedly came in to be the administrator of the US digital service which was renamed the US , 1 minute, 6 secondsDoge service pursued to an executive order I’m going to check the US digital service website right now in real time to see if anybody has changed the , 1 minute, 14 secondswebsite to say who is running it no and the website seems half broken at this point which is ironic because it , 1 minute, 23 secondswas created uh I’ll be able to share my screen in future uh additions of this but the US Digital Services website is , 1 minute, 31 secondsapparently broken and it was created because the digital service was created in 2012 because the roll out of healthcare.gov was such a disaster and , 1 minute, 40 secondsthis is bizarre because the US government of course actually invented the Internet literally not necessarily Al Gore but uh it’s the Department of , 1 minute, 47 secondsDefense and um DARPA invited the internet and then we had a bunch of weird Tech dudes from Google come out to , 1 minute, 56 secondstell the government that invented the Internet how to use the internet that was weird , 2 minutes, 5 secondsum and so the question was about musk and what’s going on there so musk steps in and Doge Department of government , 2 minutes, 13 secondsefficiency right and they they put it they just rename the US digital service the US Doge , 2 minutes, 22 secondsservice musk is not officially anything right now he is not officially the administrator of that uh of that service it does not , 2 minutes, 31 secondssay so on their website that doesn’t work um he has no Authority and in fact Trump said in one of his C uh in one of , 2 minutes, 38 secondshis cabinet meetings in front of musk he said of course mus doesn’t have any power it’s all you guys who are , 2 minutes, 45 secondssecretaries of your of your departments you’re the ones with authority and you’re doing everything , 2 minutes, 52 secondsright which that’s legal that’s true you know the administrator of the EPA can make decisions about EPA so he kind , 3 minutes, 2 secondsof tipped the hand that that Elon wasn’t really running any of this and yet the media was telling us all over the place , 3 minutes, 10 secondsthat he was running all this stuff and it makes sense that he wasn’t because he doesn’t have any legal authority to do so and even if you have somebody in the , 3 minutes, 17 secondsWhite House who claims to have authority there’s just so many there’s so , 3 minutes, 24 secondsmany bureaucratic things you got to do things you got to file calls you make , 3 minutes, 33 secondsto certain phone phone numbers that you can’t just do something it’s too complicated a system for that now if you , 3 minutes, 42 secondshave some civil servants there who know how to run things and then they are telling the secretary hey here’s what , 3 minutes, 49 secondsyou do then you can get a bunch of stuff done very quickly that is the balance between the political appointees and the Civil Serv , 3 minutes, 56 secondsso that the the will of the president of United States is reflected more in the running of the agency you have the civil , 4 minutes, 4 secondsservants there um you know your gs1 14s and 15s who are there really making the thing work but you don’t want elections , 4 minutes, 12 secondsnot to have consequences so your political appointees uh you know are there they need to be able to change things about the uh various uh , 4 minutes, 20 secondsdepartments in order to reflect the policies that the American people voted for and we were told that this was all , 4 minutes, 28 secondscompletely perverse and that Elon Musk was running the government except he’s not because he can’t because it’s not , 4 minutes, 37 secondspossible so you know I think Elon is being a rodeo clown right now I think he , 4 minutes, 46 secondsis you know being set up as the Black Sheep he is he’s having everything blamed on him , 4 minutes, 54 secondsand I think he’s so many things that are cognizable as felonies uh if nothing , 5 minutes, 1 secondelse just his his Securities fraud in several of his companies it sure seems like the way , 5 minutes, 9 secondshe purchased Twitter he was not all the way honest with his stockholders let’s his shareholders let’s just put it that way , 5 minutes, 18 secondsum so you know it was he forced into this to take the heat off the actual , 5 minutes, 25 secondspeople changing the US government you know at a time that we’re getting rid of decades worth of like drug cartel infiltration that may be , 5 minutes, 34 secondsso I mean he doesn’t have an official position and a lot of what he does doesn’t make sense , 5 minutes, 42 secondsso um you know and will J says he needs jail time I can see how you would reach that , 5 minutes, 50 secondsconclusion um also seems like a lot of Trump’s P picks are there to be thrown under the bus I think this is the , 5 minutes, 58 secondsunderside of the bus I think I think cash Patel is on the underside of the bus this is my my view of it I I think , 6 minutes, 5 secondspeople like telsey gabin are not I still have questions about her going to see um Bashar alassad in 2012 , 6 minutes, 13 secondsbut that was really wild yes P says I expect Elon to be , 6 minutes, 20 secondssacrificed at some point he seems to be acting like a shield distraction for others agreed , 6 minutes, 27 secondsyou went to prison for graffiti okay that’s the level of felons I like around here just the light stuff just the light , 6 minutes, 36 secondsstuff Patrick asks random but what are your feelings on uh Alexandria Alexandra Ocasio Cortez AOC the , 6 minutes, 44 secondscongresswoman she constantly surprises I think she has a real National Security bent and um while she was definitely not , 6 minutes, 53 secondsuh sort of designed for me as a candidate it to be my my ideal archetype of something I find her to be uh an , 7 minutes, 2 secondsextremely aidite and professional public servant uh who has U more and better policies for , 7 minutes, 10 secondsNational Security than almost all of her colleagues so I didn’t start a fan but I am a , 7 minutes, 17 secondsfan going back to Twitter andu asks what media is trustworthy is there any propublica don’t watch TV news anymore , 7 minutes, 26 secondscan’t stand any of them um I don’t find too many media Outlets that are being , 7 minutes, 32 secondshelpful there’s only one or two media Outlets that I I find to be particularly , 7 minutes, 39 secondsaccurate that’s justice.gov and usaspending.gov if you want to know what people are , 7 minutes, 46 secondsactually um spending money on and what these different tech companies or this and that who’s getting cash and from , 7 minutes, 53 secondswhich agencies it’s in there it’s indisputable and there’s so little in the world that is indisputable about the , 8 minutesUS government or about how things are going right that stuff is so dry and so nerdy , 8 minutes, 9 secondsthat um that no one can fix it you just have to you have to go and go you have to go to the website and go all right what what is everybody spending money on , 8 minutes, 18 secondsand you’ll have your answer um that is not for public consumption and you know we should have or rather it is public , 8 minutes, 25 secondsconsumption and that it is public data but it’s not easy to digest for the American people so that people understand the narrative um but the , 8 minutes, 33 secondsother one that’s big is justice.gov um particularly the press releases about who they’re Prosecuting there was a case , 8 minutes, 41 secondsthis week about a um a law enforcement officer in Puerto Rico who diverted , 8 minutes, 50 seconds$170 that was going to be used in some investigation I don’t know if he took it or he kept someone else from getting it , 8 minutes, 57 secondsI think it might have been um Pro you know property that was confiscated uh during a drug rate of some form was , 9 minutes, 5 seconds$170 they took him to trial he didn’t plead guilty and um was a 5-day trial which is very resource intensive for the US , 9 minutes, 14 secondsattorney’s office and they got a conviction and they came out with a press release and they said yeah any Act of public corruption no matter how , 9 minutes, 22 secondssmall uh harms us so don’t do it we will take you to trial and we will send you to prison like this , 9 minutes, 30 secondsguy that is real news that is a change that’s a change in policy that’s a , 9 minutes, 37 secondschange in how they um you know they are deciding to , 9 minutes, 44 secondsprosecute U you’re also seeing a lot of prosecutions of Customs and Border Patrol officers who are various kinds of , 9 minutes, 53 secondsdirty or people interfering in Health and Human Services that’ be Medicare and Medicaid and other uh issues they’re , 10 minutes, 2 secondsinterfering in their office of Inspector General investigations oig is there to , 10 minutes, 10 secondsinvestigate the corruption in the the agency uh and it is Staff the oig’s office is staffed by special agents just , 10 minutes, 18 secondslike the FBI only they specialize in like Amtrak oig specializes in fraud , 10 minutes, 25 secondsthat involves uh you know our national Railways HHS pretty much anything involving Healthcare so they have a lot , 10 minutes, 33 secondsgoing on they’re not just Prosecuting the frauders they’re Prosecuting people messing with the , 10 minutes, 40 secondsinvestigations that , 10 minutes, 47 secondsum you know that is important you know we’re talking about um we’re talking , 10 minutes, 55 secondsabout getting at how we investigate corruption because if you corrupt the , 11 minutes, 2 secondsinvestigators then you don’t get the crimes so let’s , 11 minutes, 10 secondssee so that is my version of the media is what I meant is I just go right for the data because it can’t it can’t be , 11 minutes, 18 secondsdiverted prop publically does some pretty good stories I’ve liked them a lot in the back you know in in the past but of late it seems like they’re very , 11 minutes, 26 secondslimited they they get so far with the story and then they stop they’ll talk about the um the Immigrant laborers up in Wisconsin and the Dairy Farmers where , 11 minutes, 35 secondssomebody gets killed and you know it’s not properly investigated and that’s all true but they don’t take the next step and going to yeah this is the cartel’s , 11 minutes, 43 secondsrunning illegal slave labor of course that’s dangerous that’ll get you you know threatened that’ll get you , 11 minutes, 50 secondskilled you know so I understand why not but you know so I don’t read prop anymore , 11 minutes, 58 secondsbecause I don’t take the next step and as far as the rest of the television and websites and stuff like , 12 minutes, 4 secondsthat just not a big , 12 minutes, 15 secondsfan interesting question why is ice that’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement pausing drug smuggling and human trafficking investigations to go , 12 minutes, 23 secondsafter first amendment protected speech and the clip that was uh proposed here is it has been reported in America that over the past 2 months ice has been , 12 minutes, 32 secondspreparing an operation to arrest Pro Palestinian activists the agency even reportedly paused its human trafficking and drug smuggling investigations , 12 minutes, 39 secondsreportedly okay to to have agents monitor social media for posts and likes from Pro Palestinian , 12 minutes, 46 secondsstudents um when you find out that a lot of the pro Palestinian protesters may have , 12 minutes, 53 secondsbeen uh flown in here from overseas as and they’re not from here necessarily you start to wonder if uh they get you , 13 minutes, 1 secondcoming and going all that all that Palestine stuff and I don’t believe for one second that the human trafficking and and drug , 13 minutes, 10 secondstrafficking investigations are paused because they keep Prosecuting the hell out of everybody so that’s you know reportedly that’s a , 13 minutes, 17 secondsnonstarter So Lisa Roy asks are you saying the removal of all the IGS is a good thing , 13 minutes, 25 secondsI’m not sure that they removed all the IGS I know some of them were were dismissed I don’t know the status of , 13 minutes, 31 secondsthat I think there’s a lot of people who may have been occupying a position in the federal government who were there , 13 minutes, 39 secondsbecause they wouldn’t take it too far and it’s time to take it too far it’s time to get wild and it’s going to get crazy , 13 minutes, 50 secondsso not everyone who says free Palestine cares about Palestinians that’s true um , 13 minutes, 57 secondsPalestine is a a territory that includes Israel and used to sort of include a number of people that lived in in that , 14 minutes, 6 secondspart of the world it was managed by the Ottomans it was then managed by the British Empire and uh we set up a a Sovereign , 14 minutes, 15 secondsNation there that has been very very troubled in 1948 um and you know you kind of lose , 14 minutes, 24 secondstrack of everything that’s going on with Netanyahu and shinb and IDF but they’re finally moving uh different people , 14 minutes, 31 secondsaround there um where there’s I think the head of I think Ronan bar the head of shinb maybe stepping down who knows , 14 minutes, 39 secondswhat’s going on with Netanyahu but um yeah Palestine is very clearly set up as , 14 minutes, 48 secondsa geopolitical problem that can always take the oxygen out of every other debate the second certain people want it to so , 14 minutes, 56 secondsyou know you start to wonder is that maybe the whole point of that country yes I understand there’s supposed to be a Homeland for certain folks um but the , 15 minutes, 5 secondsway it is the way it is used raises a lot of questions and um you know of , 15 minutes, 13 secondscourse if you are flying in Agents provocateur from outside of the country one of the agencies that would monitor that especially if they’ve been removed , 15 minutes, 20 secondsin the past would be ice immigrations and custom enforcement , 15 minutes, 30 secondsout Sarah uner asks is the FBI still concerned about people who lie on phah registrations if not why not always a , 15 minutes, 38 secondsgood question um I believe the Farah unit is under assault by the Trump Administration and , 15 minutes, 47 secondslook I talk about foreign agents probably more than almost any other voice out there right I’m not too worried about this one , 15 minutes, 54 secondscuz the ferah unit doesn’t work I’m not saying that the people who run the foreign agents registration act database aren’t doing their jobs I’m not saying , 16 minutes, 3 secondsthat I’m saying that if you look at the the number of the number of primary registrants and , 16 minutes, 11 secondsforeign principles and short form registrant and the total number of foreign agents who are obviously under , 16 minutes, 19 secondstasking from some Align Network there’s not a match like the the the Farah , 16 minutes, 26 secondsdatabase was established in 1938 you know to to oppose Nazis and , 16 minutes, 34 secondsSoviets and it doesn’t work you know we’ve had scant enforcement of the law there for decades , 16 minutes, 42 secondsand it’s not really getting much better you’ve got the same few law firms that are registering over and over and over , 16 minutes, 51 secondsagain and that’s it you know it’s not really expanding it’s not um I I don’t think it’s really set up well for the , 16 minutes, 59 secondssubtlety of its role that there’s a lot of subtlety in who is a foreign agent if you convince somebody to act in their , 17 minutes, 6 secondsown self-interest their own Greed for the benefit of Belgium or something you know that might not be , 17 minutes, 13 secondsenough to trigger what currently is you know the the threshold for having a register under , 17 minutes, 21 secondsphah you know I’m not certain right now as I’m sitting here of what I would tell you about what I would do to neutralize , 17 minutes, 31 secondsthose Counter Intelligence problems but I can tell you it probably wouldn’t look like what the Farah unit’s doing right , 17 minutes, 38 secondsnow um so again these are these are problematic facets of the US government , 17 minutes, 46 secondsthat their failure or their lack of optimization is a real problem for us not understanding the role of Chinese , 17 minutes, 54 secondsmoney in our Poli politics or in our science we don’t have a comprehensive way to understand that threat or neutralize it or report to the American , 18 minutes, 2 secondspeople on how we’re doing with it just not doing it well at , 18 minutes, 7 secondsall so we have to do better to put it , 18 minutes, 16 secondsmildly Lisa Roy asks thoughts on Peter teal and his backing of JD Vance um Peter teal is is a very , 18 minutes, 25 secondsinteresting individual uh from the the Easter most part of of , 18 minutes, 34 secondsGermany back in the day I’m speaking of his some of his family members of other generations and his role in the United , 18 minutes, 42 secondsStates is very hard to understand I do know that his family members tend to be there um when it , 18 minutes, 51 secondsuh when when it comes to uranium refinement and Mining it and all that stuff , 19 minutes, 2 secondsso I think we are getting to the to the end of of some of the the major , 19 minutes, 9 secondsquestions here Joseph Garcia asks uh after the Oval Office meting last year drones started showing up and politicians were panicking there’s a , 19 minutes, 16 secondssubreddit dedicated to them in New Jersey but they’re seen elsewhere will they truly reveal themselves or after this show they’ll silently vanish I , 19 minutes, 23 secondsthink that was another one one of these uh events that was created to take up some space in the news cycle so um and , 19 minutes, 34 secondsthe coordinated hyperventilation of certain politicians did not Escape my attention uh I think we’re going to have a lot of that until we figure out how to , 19 minutes, 41 secondsfigure out those networks and uh and deal with that other than that the United States has lots of ways to take care of its U its airspace it’s more of , 19 minutes, 50 secondsa pentagon issue and uh will involve classified information to which I am not , 20 minutes, 1 secondprivy uh I think one of the last issues I want to deal with is some of the hyperventilation about um Trump’s invocation of the the alien enemies act , 20 minutes, 10 secondsto remove members of Tren deaga which is a a very murderous lethal , 20 minutes, 19 secondscartel and you see this attempt to get everybody reflexive , 20 minutes, 27 secondsum you get an attempt to get you to feel about something before you know what you think about it and I saw a lot of , 20 minutes, 35 secondscoordinated voices trying to attack the Trump administration’s invocation of this law in order to get rid of these , 20 minutes, 43 secondsVenezuelan cartel guys and I can say I I’m pretty comfortable that most law-abiding Americans be pretty excited about , 20 minutes, 51 secondsgetting rid of this element in society these are child traff Sentinel traffickers murderers they’re not who you want around and they have no right , 20 minutes, 58 secondsto be here but it’s very interesting when you see the coordinated hyperventilation online of this could go way further so , 21 minutes, 9 secondseven if you point out that Tren laaga has no right to be here and they should be gone at at all costs that because something else might , 21 minutes, 17 secondshappen because Trump it’s time to feel like we shouldn’t remove these cartel gangsters from the , 21 minutes, 24 secondsUnited States and I don’t believe that and I think it is , 21 minutes, 31 secondsproblematic that we have this kind of coordination around that message because , 21 minutes, 38 secondsif the answer is well everything is a threat here because it’s Trump doing it and it might be bad even if it’s , 21 minutes, 45 secondssomething that appears like a net good like getting rid of murderous gangsters then the answer is not , 21 minutes, 53 secondshyperventilating online and sending out more tweets the answer is running Congress people who can win , 22 minutesin Missouri and making sure that whoever’s the you know the presidential candidate in 2028 has a chance at becoming president , 22 minutes, 9 secondsof the United States and you know we’re on the way to the next , 22 minutes, 16 secondsnational election in 26 and if if people are interested in governing the United States of America , 22 minutes, 23 secondsand not leaving it and not leaving it to the Trump , 22 minutes, 29 secondspeople who I fully admit look pretty weird , 22 minutes, 35 secondsthen getting all faux upset about these matters that doesn’t , 22 minutes, 43 secondshave nearly the impact of registering people to vote uh , 22 minutes, 49 secondsdid you have a uh a state chairman of the democratic party who who failed to , 22 minutes, 57 secondsget out the vote did they suck in 2024 then get them out get somebody else , 23 minutes, 5 secondsin the job who isn’t dirty you know like who isn’t a foreign agent and if you’re , 23 minutes, 12 secondsnot going to bother getting foreign agents out of the democratic party then you don’t have any business , 23 minutes, 21 secondscomplaining about what the foreign agents in the Trump Administration are up to especially since I don’t think they have nearly as many foreign agents , 23 minutes, 30 secondsin this Trump Administration as the last one think the last one had nothing but foreign agents in them uh looking at John Bolton and Mike Pompeo and Rudy , 23 minutes, 37 secondsGiuliani and them but if you’re not going to fix the Democratic , 23 minutes, 45 secondsparty what chance do you have because the fix is in you know I I think there needs to be , 23 minutes, 54 secondstwo healthy parties here that both have America’s interests at heart and the ability to organize and win , 24 minutes, 1 secondelections and there’s not nearly enough pressure on these organs of the democratic party whether it’s the party , 24 minutes, 8 secondsitself or the media that purports to be its unofficial Communications arm like , 24 minutes, 16 secondsMSNBC I would posit that the people in the Democratic party are not actually Democrats they had a l of foreign ties , 24 minutes, 25 secondsand a lot of organized crime ties tell you there is a whole ton of organized crime ties to the Missouri Democratic party and if you don’t like Trump then , 24 minutes, 33 secondsget those guys out it’s not that hard like go online and say fire Russ carahan from the Missouri Democratic , 24 minutes, 41 secondsparty because he sucks he’s not good at winning elections you know he registered as a foreign agent so , 24 minutes, 50 secondshe’s not in violation I don’t think based on what we know he’s not registered he’s not uh liable criminally under Farah because he’s , 24 minutes, 58 secondsregistered um he just sucks at his job it’s okay I wasn’t really good at the snack bar in 1990 in Rin Vermont I don’t , 25 minutes, 7 secondswork there anymore wasn’t wasn’t my cup of tea apparently so if you if you really don’t like , 25 minutes, 15 secondsTrump and you want different policies then you got to win the election and just saying that there’s never going to be elections anymore that that worry is , 25 minutes, 24 secondsa replacement for doing the work that we need to do to earn this Republic it’s , 25 minutes, 32 secondsnot just keeping this Republic It’s you got to earn it you got to put in the , 25 minutes, 39 secondswork and there’s a lot of people that feel that as long as they are righteous , 25 minutes, 46 secondsand they’ve got feel-good lines about how righteous they are online that that replaces winning you know I would have I would , 25 minutes, 54 secondshave loved to have someone other than Andrew Bailey be Attorney General of Missouri he wasn’t much my cup of , 26 minutes, 2 secondste but he’s who we have because there’s no Democratic party here none , 26 minutes, 13 secondsso it was wonderful to be with you tonight I apologize for the technical problems um I guarantee when I look back , 26 minutes, 21 secondsat this I I’m going to suffer over them a a lot more than you um so I’m not happy about the the the sound problems , 26 minutes, 29 secondsbut I am happy about you and I want to thank you for uh being with me here tonight and uh please like hit subscribe , 26 minutes, 38 secondsleave a comment watch my other stuff uh
