Unemployment in France and Germany has had two completely different stories in the last two decades of the European experiment.
France is politically saddled with a very difficult situation: a leftist government (Hollande) that is phenomenally unpopular (around 12% favorability rating) and two pro-Putin right-wing politicians (Fillon and LePen) who promise to destabilize the social order as well as the European project.
The roots of these political trends can be seen in the social realities suggested by these unemployment statistics.
