U.S. Non-Farm Payroll Trends, 2006-2016

Eric Garland April 1, 2016 DataLab

Total non-farm payroll employment increased by 242,000 in February of 2016, higher than an upwardly revised 172,000 in the previous month and beating market expectations of 190,000.

The trend in this chart suggests that the recovery has remained remarkably stable, despite Uber-like business models and non-exempt, hourly employment terms changing the shape of labor.
